Overview
What Atomico Angel Programme offers
What Atomico Angel Programme is
The Atomico Angel Programme is Atomico's Europe-focused angel/scout vehicle for experienced operators, founders, executives, community builders, and sector specialists who can back founders before they are ready for Atomico's main Series A-plus fund. It launched publicly on 2018-11-29 under Sophia Bendz and Will Dufton, with an inaugural cohort of 12 named angels. Selected angels receive capital to make multiple early-stage investments, keep autonomy over founder selection within Atomico's ethical exclusions, and participate in individual plus pooled upside.

Compensation and economics
The economics combine a micro-fund allocation and carry. Atomico says angels share in upside from companies they back and that carry from each investment goes into an Angel Pool so cohort members can benefit from one another's winners.
Focus and fit
Who the program is for
Program thesis
Atomico uses the programme to activate a wider pool of European angel investors and back ambitious early-stage founders before they are ready for Atomico's Series A/Growth funds. The programme is sector-generalist, but public examples include climate, health, fintech, future of work, consumer, web3, food/agtech, and deep tech.
Eligibility
Atomico frames the programme around European founders, operators, community builders, sector experts, and other experienced ecosystem participants with distinctive networks. Public sources do not disclose hard eligibility rules, citizenship requirements, or whether non-Europe-based candidates can be considered.
Selection approach
Admissions are by invitation. Atomico previously listed angels@atomico.com for consideration, but no public form or materials list was found. Sifted reported a rolling model where Atomico can add one or two angels monthly when it meets strong candidates.

Value and support
What participation may provide
Publicly described support is context, not a guarantee of current delivery or future benefit.
What participants may receive
New Atomico angels receive a $100,000 allocation to write multiple early-stage checks; selected returning alumni in the fourth-year model received a $200,000 baseline. The angel chooses investments independently, subject to ethical exclusions and LP commitments, and an angel-programme investment does not guarantee later Atomico fund investment. Non-financial benefits include Atomico investment-team access, Slack community, in-person and virtual events, peer deal discussion, and research support.
