Overview

What 500 Global VC Unlocked offers

What 500 Global VC Unlocked is

VC Unlocked: Silicon Valley is 500 Global's flagship venture education program, created in collaboration with the Stanford Engineering Center for Global & Online Education. Launched in 2015, the program is an exclusive, invite-only two-week immersive experience held on the Stanford University campus. It combines 500 Global's extensive industry expertise with Stanford's academic rigor and innovative teaching methods. The program uses a project-based teaching methodology that emphasizes real-world application. Over two weeks, participants engage with Stanford faculty and 500 Global partners in interactive sessions covering fund structure, deal evaluation, portfolio management, LP relations, and the operational mechanics of running a venture capital firm. The curriculum is designed for practicing investors looking to sharpen their skills rather than newcomers to the field. Admission operates on a nomination-only basis; self-nominations are not accepted. Candidates must be nominated by a peer or colleague in the venture ecosystem. Minimum eligibility requires at least 1 year of experience in angel investing, venture capital, or a similar financial field, or 5+ years as an operator. The program fee is $35,000 per participant, excluding travel expenses. Since its launch, VC Unlocked has equipped over 450 emerging investors from 240+ venture firms with the capabilities and confidence to contribute meaningfully to the companies they support. The alumni network spans dozens of countries and includes fund managers, GPs, and senior investment professionals from across the global venture landscape. Regional variants have been launched to serve markets outside the US. VC Unlocked Tokyo, now in its 2nd cohort, brings the curriculum to the Japanese venture ecosystem. Sanabil VC Unlocked serves the MENA region as a condensed 4-day program. Online certificate courses are also available through Stanford Online as distilled versions of the flagship experience for those who cannot attend in person.
