About Seedcamp 2008 - Audio
UCL Advances hosted “Seedcamp” in 2008 and will do so again in 2009. Seedcamp is one of a number of external organisations that UCL has partnered with to create new links with small innovative companies. It is a programme backed by leading venture capital investors to identify the next generation of high-growth technology companies from across Europe. These then attended a week-long development programme at UCL in September 2008. Day1 This video contains highlights of day 1 of the programme: Seedcamp participant companies introduce themselves, including the founders of Bebo, buy.at, Plazes, Jaiku and Last.fm. Speakers include Saul Klein, Index Venture Partners and Marten Mickos, MySQL. Day 2 This video contains highlights of day 2 of the programme: Highlights from the product panel. Martin Varsavsky, Instituto de Empresa Business School, Jazztel and FON and Brent Hoberman, lastminute.com and MyDeco, discuss the impact of the credit crunch. Day3 This video contains highlights of day 3 of the programme: Speakers include Jamie Kantrowitz, MySpace, Blake Chandleee, Facebook, Obi Felten, Google and Brent Hoberman, lastminute.com and MyDeco. Interviews with Seedcamp participants. Day 4 This video contains highlights of day 4 of the programme: Seedcamp participants prepare to pitch to leading investors and technology players including Microsoft and Atlas Ventures. Day 5 This video contains highlights of day 5 of the programme: Winners announced. Participating companies, mentors and Seedcamp organisers discuss their experiences of the week long programme and of partnering with UCL.
