Community overview

Wilma Valentine Childcare (WVC) is a non-profit childcare center located in Sidney, Ohio. Founded in 1992, WVC was established in response to a county-wide survey indicating a need for childcare services for children with disabilities. The center provides opportunities for children aged 3 to 5, both with and without disabilities, to learn together in an integrated setting. WVC operates year-round from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is situated on the campus of the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Community focus

WVC focuses on providing individualized childcare services for preschool-aged children, particularly those with physical, cognitive, or behavioral challenges. The center partners with local preschool programs, including Shelby Hills Preschool and Whittier Early Childhood Center, to ensure a consistent educational experience for children.
