The Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) is a nonprofit organization that empowers entrepreneurs to build successful businesses through training programs, advisory services, and access to capital. Founded in 2002, WEDC is based in White Plains, New York, and serves aspiring and established entrepreneurs in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. The organization originated as the Women’s Enterprise Project (WEP) in 2001, focusing on women lacking access to traditional business resources. In 2003, it became the designated U.S. Small Business Administration Women’s Business Center for the region.

Community focus

WEDC provides a range of services aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs at various stages of business development. Their offerings include entrepreneurial training programs, individualized counseling, networking events, assistance with loan applications, and financial assistance through microloans and grants. WEDC serves diverse populations, including mature adults, child care providers, survivors of domestic violence, veterans, and dislocated workers.
