NWEW as a community
Community overview
National Women's Enterprise Week (NWEW) is a non-profit initiative founded by Alison Cork MBE in partnership with the British Library Business & IP Centre National Network. It aims to support and celebrate female entrepreneurs in the UK. The initiative was established to address the significant funding gap faced by female-led businesses, with the next event scheduled for June 16th-20th, 2025.
Community focus
NWEW focuses on empowering female entrepreneurs, particularly those starting small businesses. The initiative emphasizes the importance of supporting start-ups over scale-ups, as small businesses play a crucial role in local economies and contribute to financial independence for their owners. NWEW aims to create a supportive infrastructure for female entrepreneurs through events, resources, and mentorship.
Member value
Members gain access to exclusive resources, mentorship, and opportunities to pitch to venture capitalists and angel investors through the NWEW Accelerator Programme. The initiative also provides a supportive community and celebrates the achievements of female entrepreneurs.
