Founded in response to the significant decline in local businesses following the riots after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968, which resulted in the loss of 75% of businesses in the area, LBRA aims to attract new businesses, retain existing ones, and support their growth through various economic development programs and incentives.
