The Global Institute for the Future (GIFT) was founded in 2021, originally as the Global Institute for the Future of Tourism. It was established following the first Future of Tourism World Summit in Barcelona, conducted in collaboration with UN Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain. The summit attracted over 150 international speakers and nearly 20,000 online attendees during the pandemic. GIFT has since expanded its mission to include areas such as energy, sustainability, economic transformation, and global governance, while continuing to serve as a think tank, training space, and strategic advisor for governments and private sector organizations.
